Campaign marks International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

“WHO IS SHUT IS NOT CONSENT” is the name of the campaign that the Structure of Service to Victims of Domestic Violence (EAVVD) “A New Beginning”, from the Delegation of Chaves of the Portuguese Red Cross is promoting, today (25 November), regarding the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

This campaign is developed in partnership with the six Municipalities of the Intermunicipal Community of Alto Tâmega e Barroso (Boticas, Chaves, Montalegre, Ribeira de Pena, Valpaços and Vila Pouca de Aguiar), as well as with the Hospital Centre of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (CHTMAD) and the Grouping of Health Centres of Alto Tâmega e Barroso (ACES ATB).

Several strategic places of these six Municipalities count with posters, mupis, and/or digital screens, aiming to appeal to all people, and not only the victims, to report situations of domestic violence to the authorities, taking into account the public nature of the crime. In the same way, it is intended to raise awareness among victims to ask for help from specialized services, and, for that purpose, important contacts will be disclosed.

The campaign will be on display until the end of 2022 and will also be promoted in digital format through the Facebook and Instagram platforms of the various partner entities.
